Question:
Simple question — why is my horse so spooky? Elaine, CT
Answer:
Hi Elaine! 🙂 Well, asides from the Leadership not being aptly in place, I would refer you to an article I just posted here:
http://horseconsult.wordpress.com/2012/09/04/understanding-equine-fear-behavior/
This will help explain the thinking process/physiological/neurological reasons. That’s a good base from which to start understanding horses’s behaviors.
With specific regard to spooking, I would recommend that you read some of my articles here as well as on http://www.thepenzancehorse.com along with some of Mark Rashid’s articles on Leadership here: http://www.markrashid.com
Establishing a strong Leadership is the FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT cornerstone to building a solid Partnership with your horse.
