Today as we succumb to yet another winter storm I had to smile.
Looking out the window from my kitchen I see Tami and Diego hiding in the barn aisle-way but standing out, brave and true, is our mustang, Cheyenne.
Her dark coat a stark contrast to the white of the snow, she stands proud and honest as the days are long.
Her thick winter coat warms her body from the inside out; the snow doesn’t stand a chance. Later, after more snow has fallen, it will build to 6″ deep or more on her back. It’s not that she can’t get into the barn with the others but she chooses to stand out. I wonder if it brings back memories of her Nevada wild herd and home.
Great picture! 🙂
